World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day was introduced in 1991 to raise awareness of diabetes as an escalating problem around the world. It is organised by the International Diabetes Federation and supported by the World Health Organisation.
Every year, on November 14, millions of people, in more than 150 countries celebrate World Diabetes Day. The aim is to educate people about diabetes, to provide support for those affected by diabetes and to encourage further research into the condition.
The focus of World Diabetes Day, 2006 is Diabetes in the disadvantaged and the vulnerable. This year’s slogan is “Diabetes Care For Everyone” and The Official Diabetes Blog™ will be doing its bit to help this slogan become a reality.
On November 14, 2006 we will be running a 24 Hour Diabetes Blogathon. Every hour, on the hour, we will make a post on The Official Diabetes Blog™. In this post we will answer the question and provide links to relevant sites with further information.
